This weekend is the Diocesan Festival, held at the Emmaus Youth Village at Allensford, near Consett. The festival is an inspiring event for families and individuals and the weekend has some engaging speakers and presenters, various stalls, a wonderful atmosphere and lots going on. It’s an occasion when you’ll experience a bigger sense of the Church in the north east than you do otherwise. If you’re going, let’s hope for good weather and an even better time!
We have our last Sacramental programme session for the 2015/16 school year for children this Sunday 12th June at St Mary’s between 09:30-10:45am. If you would like your child to attend the programme, beginning in the next school year, please contact us for more information.
Social meeting to be held on Tuesday 14th June at 7pm in St Mary’s meeting room. Any new members wishing to attend and be involved in organising activities for the parishes would be very welcome, so please come along.
The parish works in partnership with our local Catholic schools to give young people the opportunity to play a leading role in the monthly Family Masses (Term time only). Young people who do not attend the local schools are also welcome to participate. Our next Family Masses are on:
- 12th June 16, at 11am in St Mary’s Church
- 19th June 16, at 9.30am in St Wilfrid’s Church.
All are welcome.
Representatives from the parishes in the deanery have formed a group in support of the Youth Agenda. We have a Parish adult representative attending and would welcome young people (Year 10 or above) who would be interested in attending a meeting with other young people in the deanery on Wednesday 22nd June 16 at 7pm. Transport will be arranged. If you would like more information or are interested in attending, please contact us.
