Services

Daily services:

Mass is usually held daily and Eucharistic Services are available on weekdays. Services on a weekday are held in St Mary’s meeting room and in St Wilfrid’s Presbytery or in the community, such as the local hospital or school. Please see the weekly bulletin for times and location(s) of the weekday Mass and Eucharistic Service.

On a weekend the services are held in the churches:

St Mary’s Church: Saturday Vigil 17:30 and Sunday morning 11:00.

St Wilfrid’s Church: Sunday morning 09:30.

Confession times are available at St Mary’s Church on Saturday (10:15-11:00am), at St Wilfrid’s Church on Sunday (09:00-09:20am) and can also heard be on request at other times by arrangement with the priest in charge.

Baptism:

An important step for any parent is to have their child baptised. These services are usually held on a weekend at the family’s choice (although could be held during the week if requested) and it is a time to bring family and friends together. Prior to the baptism service, it will be necessary for one or both parents to attend a meeting with the priest in order to discuss the arrangements for the service.

Marriage:

Prior to the ceremony, it will be necessary for the couple to attend a meeting with the priest in order to discuss the arrangements for the service. There may also be other preparation meetings that the couple attend in the time leading up to the marriage ceremony.

Funeral:

A funeral service or Requiem Mass can be held in either church and all arrangements are made in discussion with the family and in liaison with other organisations, including funeral directors. At a time of need, gentle guidance and reassurance is available to support the family through making all the necessary arrangements.
